Hello and welcome to Newcastle University Jewish Society! We are a small, "developing" J-soc with strong ties to the larger community, and the UJS (Union of Jewish Students). If you're looking to explore your Jewish identity, to meet and have fun with other Jewish students, or to simply be part of a community, then we'd love to meet you! Our society is available to both Newcastle and Northumbria University students.
Although the Jewish student population of Newcastle is relatively small when compared to the likes of Leeds, Nottingham or Birmingham, we believe that we provide a more intimate and personal setting in our J-Soc: we're a family!
We are also not short of infrastructure:
We are a "pluralistic" society- we welcome students from all levels of observance, beliefs and sexual orientation. You may be a full-time member of a Jew Crew, or may only have one Jewish grandparent, or you may just be interested in Jewish culture! If you're interested in us, then we're interested in you! See our prospective students sign up page.

We are also not short of infrastructure:
- United and Reform Synagogue in Newcastle
- Our Hillel House (a general meeting place for the society, where we host events and Friday night dinners) with a kosher kichen.
- The wise and hospitable Rabbi Aaron Lipsey, our chaplain. (See contact page).
